There are no classes currently but please don't go!  Read on below or see my one-to-one page about private training with me which is increasingly popular for puppies as well as older dogs.  This method of training is often preferred and way more beneficial for a number of reasons - and it also includes essential and correct socialisation:

  • I can visit your home and train your puppy or dog as soon as you have them, so it can be done before puppy vaccinations which means you do not waste those amazing first few weeks of potential learning.
  • As above, you do not waste any precious training time waiting to get your puppy or dog into a suitable class.
  • I give advice on socialising and habituating your puppy and older dogs to dogs, people and the environment to help you have a confident and relaxed dog.
  • We choose the locations for training which will best suit your puppy or dog (some pups and dogs do not do well in classes) and one-to-one is a lot more relaxing for you too.
  • Behavioural issues such as toileting, separation anxiety and other behaviours can be sorted out much more quickly.
  • By training prior to vaccinations your puppy will have learned to walk at 'heel', come when called and other essential training for a well mannered and happy dog even before they are allowed out, which will make your walks much more enjoyable and relaxing.
  • One-to-one training is also the quickest and most effective way to train older dogs with training and/or behavioural problems.

One-to-one training is offered throughout the year (weekday, evenings, weekends) and is very effective both for training and correct socialisation.  Please see 'ONE-TO-ONE' PAGE.

"Sally doesn’t just train the dogs, she trains me to train my dog, so I learn what I need to do for the whole of my dog’s life,
not just while the classes are going on.  Sally knows how to get the best from a dog no matter what their temperament
is like and I would happily recommend her classes and individual training sessions to anybody who needs help with their dog.

More about training with me...

You can relax - you are not meant to start with a well-behaved dog ...

Whilst safety and the well-being of dogs and owners is paramount, training is done in a relaxed environment.  However, a commitment to doing your 'homework' each day between training will enable you to see the best results.

The core training exercises covered will enable you to have a well mannered, contented companion and are also an excellent start for essential obedience and motivational training for those of you who wish to take part in competitive sports in the future.

Training will include what is most relevant for you and your dogs:-

  • Appropriate socialisation for your puppy or dog
  • Recall (dog coming when called)
  • Walking on a loose lead
  • Wait (and remain in position)
  • Sit (and remain in position)
  • Down (and remain in position)
  • Leave (food, toys and other items)
  • How to play correctly (teach good manners,
gain focus and motivate your dog)
  • How to deal with common behaviour issues such as house training & play-biting
  • How to avoid common behaviour issues such as aggression over food and other items
  • How to groom and examine your dog
  • Understanding canine communication
  • Improving our own communication with our dogs
  • Correct use of rewards
  • UK Dog Law - essential knowledge for dog owners.
